In the summer of 1999, we had used the bottom two layers of 3T to provide autonomous control for a single subsystem--a second-generation biological water processor--during a 450-day, 24-hour-a-day, 7-day-a week test. "First, we have shut down or will divest several underutilized facilities within our gases and chemicals segments," says chairman and CEO John P. Jones. "Second, we are implementing cost reductions to improve productivity, including balancing engineering resources with project activity. Spline and SDS-max tools drop the rotation-only mode but allow the user to choose between hammer-drill and hammer-only. Hammer-only mode is great for tasks like removing tile, cleaning up concrete forms, and removing brick or stucco. Even though the rotary hammer won''t replace a demolition hammer, this mode is handy for light demo and greatly increases the tool''s versatility.
